MOMENT

The Moment is a dance performance deeply rooted in flamenco rhythm, movement and expression, both questioning the traditional limits and at the same time interpreting the frame of flamenco forms through the contemporary eyes, combining them with other dance styles. The ancient set of motions that the performers learned and mastered through the years, finds its own way through different contexts of movement and sound; the body becomes a specifically tuned instrument of modern expression. The performance is, in its essence, a reflection of the time we live in, of the restlessness that the popular concept of never-ending, sometimes painful, sometimes humorous search for ‘oneself’ carries with it. An individual feels wedged under the pressure of time, which limits him, holds him back, but also drives him/her, panically, erratically in spasms and bursts of energy. That ́s why we, tired, sometimes want to step out, to un-think it all, wishing for it all - to stop. 

 

Ironically, the unrelenting wheels of time seem indestructible, we can thus accept them, surpassing them only in brief moments - thousands of them arise through life and can give meaning to it, more or less. The moment is a walk between those different moments. The show creates a metamorphosis of them, moments are forms, which find a new form and a new meaning and in the intersection of one with the other create new paths. A moment is an inspiration and already a story, in its most clear and hopeful incarnation.
